Gamebook Adventures 3: Slaves of Rema App Reviews

Great!!!

I love adventure books and this book is one of the best books they have made I will be reading and rolling dice for hours on end. In the end its well worth the 3$ for it.

Slaves of Rema

Great gamebook. The books by Tin Man are like fighting fantasy books, but way slicker with fantastic writing. Keep on pumping them out, and Ill keep buying them

Fun take on a classic book formula

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. An exciting swashbuckling adventure! The luck factor can be a bit too much for my tastes, but thanks to the easier difficulty settings you can also just enjoy the story if that is what you prefer (like me).

Focused on combat, not story

If you love traditional/ classic gamebooks, I think youll enjoy this game. Be aware that it is very much a *game* (i.e., combat, stats, luck), not a *story*. Storywise, I found it disappointing. I wouldnt call the plot "epic in scope"--its actually quite linear, with only minor divergences along the way (ex: if you go one way, youll find a spellbook, if you go another, youll find a sapphire, and they both help you down the road, but you end up at the same place regardless). Characters were also not very developed; in fact there pretty much isnt any other important character besides yourself. I was also disappointed that your protagonist is automatically male, especially since there are female slaves and gladiators in the story--it was just jarring to keep hearing everyone refer to me as "he" and "him", but YMMV. The thing that irks me about interactive fiction is where there is a "best way" or "right choice", and I definitely felt that with this story. You want to pick up as many random things as you can, because they all make your life easier later on, which means there is a best way of going about it to make sure you pick up as much stuff as possible. On the plus side, the gamebook is very polished. The soundtrack is engaging, the interface is attractive, and the bookmark system is useful. My one complaint about the UI is that sometimes its not very responsive--I often had to press several times to open my stats/inventory page, which is a minor annoyance in an otherwise very polished product.

Great gamebook

Ive read 9 of Tin Mans gamebooks and this one is the best, by far. Great story, an appropriate amount of fights, and excellent choices with different paths that make replaying worthwhile. It took me longer to work my way through this one than any other gamebook, and it never felt boring or tedious like some of the others. Highly recommended!

Amazing quality from a renewed developer

I have no idea what changed but when the first tin man game came out I remember being very disappointed. Nothing seemed to wor right and it was buggy. There was a couple updates and the whole system was redesigned. If you get into the mood for the old choose-your-own-adventure books and want to relive those times then youve found it. Ever since then I have been a full supporter of tin man games and when the games go on sale I buy them. I have purchased just about every one of them and only downloaded and played a couple. If you appreciate those moments from the past then I recommend supporting the dev as well. Its not often they turn things around for the better!

Finally

Been waiting for the third one to release and its even better than expected! Another high quality Gamebook for the collection, a must have for gamebook fans.

Just in time...

... for my birthday. Nice. Very good story so far. Nice improvements to the whole thing. A little better balance. The fights are still too chancy, but I cant complain overly. A few grammatical and spelling errors here and there that should have been caught but very good nonetheless. I would recommend.

Fantastico

Thank you so much I been waiting for the new gamebook and I am pleased with the results well done keep en going

Worth a look!

So far this is a very enjoyable game book. The storyline is fun and entertaining and the game system works well. There are a few grammatical errors here and there. Also, there are just a few writing inconsistencies. Overall, it is well worth the price and I would recommend it. Would have given it 5 stars except for the errors.

Awesome!

Sooooo much more than just a good read--a thinking mans "choose your own adventure" book mixed with RPG elements equals hours and hours of kickass. Wish I could give it 6 stars!

Love all the gamebooks, but no bug fixes

The third installment in this series has the same issue that the first one had. Fights occasionally get hung up during the players turn and the only way to progress in the battle is to either use a health potion or finesse. If this issue of being unable to roll occurs during character creation it results in a nonprogression. Even when this was not addressed in the first installment I still purchased 2 and 3 in hopes that the devs would finally pay attention and fix this truly annoying issue, but NOPE. Im sorry, but you guys stink. I will totally change my rating and review if you actually fix this issue. It really hurts an already clunky battle system.

Just Ok

Of the four game book adventures. This is the third best one. It is ok, but not great. No major problems, just not as entertaining as you might hope. It does have some interesting combat sequences where you make choices instead of roll dice. But overall it felt a little small. Even though you travel in boats, are captured as a slave etc. It just felt a little constrained. Like you had two or three parallel paths to choose from, and you cannot find the interesting one.

Definitely a step up from the 2nd book.

I just finished the third book of the gamebook adventures series recently and I will say that its renewed my faith in the series and is on par with the first one. It could have been a little bit better in terms of different paths and freedom, but the story was interesting enough for me to actually play a few times and get the ultimate ending and there was actually a little character interaction, dialogue, and change of scenery as opposed to the second book. I would definitely recommend the app to people who are fans of the CYOA type.

Worth every penny

Ive been playing through this series for a while now and really cant say enough about it. It is a fantastic combination of choose your adventure books and pen and paper rpg style.

Wow

I for one am not into reading and after checking this game book out and managing to win after I dont know how many tries on classic mode all I could say was wow. This is very cool. The only request I would make on this is that I would love to see it to where I could be a lyzardman that would be cool. Great job with this and again all I can say is wow because I went from thinking reading was stupid to thinking its really fun and interactive. I love this.

Great @ 1.99! Just not $4.99...

Great story, very difficult, ok interface. These are amazing books, but being able to finish one in an evening makes me unwilling to fork over $5 per book. Put #1 and #6 on sale and Ill happily buy them as well. As a huge Lone Wolf fan, these are very well written! Get them on sale!

Hours of Entertainment

So happy to see this genre of storytelling still alive. Great for playing alone or reading aloud on road trips! Thank you for hours of entertainment!

Not bad and an annoying music

Story line was not bad and it wasnt that good either, music has driven me nuts, its repetitive and gives anyone a headache, it might be worth 0.99 not a six dollars book, the point is I couldnt play again because unfortunately not that exciting enough for me to read it again P.S. Story reading and playing was completed in 4Hours, so its short as will.

Great game.

But a bit laggy when I roll the dice. iOS fully updated and iPod 5g.
